holographic data recording and retrieval
In holotechnology data storage, the information to be recorded is encoded into a laser signal beam using a spatial light modulator (SLM). The SLM translates digital electronic data into a checkerboard optical configuration of light and dark that can contain nearly a million bits of data. The beam with recorded data is shone into a see-through photosensitive material. Inside this material, it intersects with a second ray and the interference configuration imprints a holographic image within the media. When the holographic image is later lit by a laser ray similar to the reference ray used to make it, then the interference pattern containing the information is recreated and read. Additional holotech discussion at holographic data storage may provide further insight.
Design is central to engineering, ground-breaking product design and prototyping, building design and construction, biotechnology and nanopharmacology, chemistry and molecular modeling, medicine and bionics, the clothing sector, the fine arts, and also other areas. Holotech applied science can help design for: direction of three-dimensional molecular models or living structures; assembling electronics; and other design-related tasks.
